Students learning JNTUK R20 Civil Branch, Can Download R20 3-1 unit-wise design and Drawing of Reinforced concrete Materials/Notes PDFs below.

OBJECTIVES:

  • Make students familiar with various types of design theories
  • Help students understand the Design of flexural member
  • Learn the concepts of shear, bond and torsion.
  • Introduce students to different kinds of compression members and Design
  • Learn about different types of foundations and the Design

UNIT-1

Method of working stress: Elastic theory: design constants modular ratio, neutral axis’s depth and moment of Resistance – balanced over- and under-reinforced parts. Design of doubly and singly reinforced beams I.S. Code provisions.

Limit State Design Basic statistical concepts Strength of character – Characteristic loads partial load and security factors stress-strain curves of HYSD bars and M.S. bars. Assumptions – Stress block parameters – a moment of Resistance

UNIT-2

Design for Shear and Flexure Design of single reinforced beams – effective depthMoment of Resistance- Doubly reinforced Flanged (T) beams- minimum depth – Maximum and Minimum Flexible Tension Reinforcement Design of Flanged sections (T and L)The effective width of the Flange Analysis and Design Issues.

Design for shear and Torsion: Analysis and Design of sections for shear and torsional – bond torsion, anchorage and development length, I.S. Code provisions. Simple and continuous beams support design examples with details.

UNIT-3

slabs as well as serviceability Slabs and Serviceability: Classification of slabs Design of one-way slabs, one-way continuous slabs using I.S. coefficients (Conventional) Design of two-way slabs – simply slabs that are supported and slabs with diverse edges using I.S. Coefficients. The Design of Staircase Limitation state of serviceability: deflection cracking and cracking I.S. code requirements for slabs and beams.

Note: All the designs to be taught in the Limit State method Following plates must be created for the pupils.

  • Reinforcement of the detailing of T-beams, L-beams and continuous beams.
  • Reinforcement of detail detailing of columns as well as isolated footings.
  • Pieces of one-way, two-way, and nonstop slabs and waist-slab staircases.

Final Examination Pattern: The final exam paper should comprise Part A and Part B. Part A is formed of two questions on Design and Drawing, from which one is to be answered. Part B shall consist of five design and design questions, of which three must be addressed. The weightage for Part A will be 40%, while that for Part B is 60%.
