The Government of India has launched an electronic portal, e-EPIC, an electronic version of EPIC (Electoral Photo Identity Card). On this portal, voters can download their voter ID cards or e-EPIC cards in a PDF file. You can use the PDF file as a hard copy, and you can also laminate it for more prolonged use, or you can upload your document to Digi Locker; it’s pretty convenient to secure your documents.

Steps to download your voter ID card
Follow the steps below to download your voter ID card:
Step 1: Go to the Voter Services Portal. https://voters.eci.gov.in/
Step 2: Go to Services and click on e-EPIC download.
Step 3: Login first if you are a first-time user. There will be two options, one for Indian residents and the other for overseas voters. Choose the option and enter your mobile number and email address details. Submit the captcha and continue.
Step 4: Enter your OTP and provide the details like your name, email, password, etc.
Step 5: Enter your 10-digit EPIC number from your voter ID card. The registration will be successful; now you can log in to download your voter ID card.
Step 6: Now log in to the website by entering your mobile number/email ID/ EPIC number, password and captcha and request for OTP.
Step 6: You will receive an OTP on your mobile number. Enter the OTP, and your Voter ID will appear on your screen; download it.
How do I download the Voter ID card from the Voter Helpline Mobile application?
Another way to download your voter ID card is using the Voter Helpline Mobile application. Follow these steps to download your voter ID card using the option above:
Step 1: Install the Voter Helpline app from Google Play or Apple Store.
Step 2: Go to the “Personal Vault” option.
Step 3: Login yourself by entering your mobile number and password. You will receive an OTP to the number.
Step 4: Enter the OTP, and you will be taken to your EPIC details.
Step 5: Now, you will see a download button below. Click on it, and the e-EPIC card will be downloaded to your smartphone.
How do I apply for a voter ID card?
If you are eligible to vote in the 2024 election, i.e. you are 18 years of age, a citizen of India and have a permanent address, then you need to cast your vote and to do so, you need your voter ID card. If you haven’t applied yet, then buckle up and apply now by following these steps:
Step 1: Go to the Voter Services Portal: https://voters.eci.gov.in/
Step 2: Log in to the portal. Enter the details requested.
Step 3: Once registered, log in to the portal.
Step 4: You will see a section on your left with the heading Form. Click on “Form 6”.
Step 5: Fill in your details like name, permanent address, Aadhar card details, photo, etc.
Step 6: Apply by clicking the “Submit” button.
Once your application is verified, you will receive your voter ID card. You can also track your application on the same website by clicking Track Application Status on the right side of the home page, in the services corner.
