Gruha Jyothi Scheme Eligibility criteria
To qualify for the scheme:
- The applicant must be a resident of Telangana.
- Their household should consume less than 200 Units per month to be eligible.
- The applicant should not have any outstanding electricity bills; the scheme doesn’t apply to unpaid bills.
- The scheme only offers this benefit for domestic usage, not commercial purposes.
- If the applicant has multiple households, they can only receive the benefit for one house.
- The applicant’s Aadhar card must be linked to the Customer ID/Account of the Electricity bill.

The Gruha Jyothi scheme provides 200 units of free electricity for domestic use in all households. If a family consumes less than 200 units, they won’t have to pay for electricity. However, if consumption exceeds 200 units, they’ll be charged for the additional units at the regular rate.

To apply for the Gruha Lakshmi scheme:
- Download the Praja Palana application form. Provided above Table
- On the first page, enter your basic details and attach a passport-size photo.
- Move to page 3 to find the Gruha Lakshmi scheme application details.
- In row 1.1, indicate the units of electricity your household consumed in the previous month.
- In row 1.2, provide your electricity meter connection number.
- Finally, on the 4th page, sign your name.
- Submit the completed application to the gazetted officer at your Mandal Panchayath.
