Ration card KYC – TelanganaÂ
The government has given an update to the ration card beneficiaries in the state. The e-KYC process for ration cards, which has been going on for the last two months, will be completed soon. The beneficiaries have been given time till January 31 to submit their KYC. The order was issued by Civil Supplies Commissioner Devender Singh Chauhan. The government has introduced ‘Know Your Customer’ (KYC) verification for ration cards. Since 2014, there has been no cleaning of ration cards in the state. Since then, the government has been distributing rice to everyone whose name is on the ration card.
The linking of Aadhaar card with the ration card plays an important role in verifying the genuineness of the ration card as some residents are using fake ration cards and these cards are not yet KYCed, KYC is now mandatory to prevent all these.
